Problem
With the advent of the Nest thermostat, many issues have arisen when implementing it in a work environment, so we decided to make it more adaptable.
So, we set out to put the power back into the hands of the office
while also bringing everyone together
as a whole.
As well as this, all with a friendly and cheerfu
l aesthetic

Research
When looking at the current job force we saw
That workers are allergic
to the office
Lack in bonding
with other co-workers
In need of positivity
What Makes Something Friendly and Cheerful?
Taking inspiration
from others
To quantify the meaning of "friendly" and "cheerful," we created a mood board along with a set of rules to follow in order to achieve a design that conveys this feeling.

Ideation
Now we have our design guidelines
, how will the app
and device flow?
After reviewing the current design of the Nest app, we identified the need to add several features to make it more accessible for the office.

As well as the device

Mid-Fidelity
Making it user-testable
After finalizing the design flow for each screen, we created a rough mockup with limited visuals to conduct accurate testing.
User Testing
Asking all the right questions
With our mid-fidelity prototype we asked the users to go throughout different tasks timing them and observing how they preformed. After this we have them a questionaire allowing for us to discover insights on the project further.
Creating components
and colorizing
After finalizing our ideas, we created components for each object that appeared in the design, ensuring consistency across all areas. Additionally, we prototyped all possible instances of these components to create a functional design. To complete the process, we applied colors and styling to finalize and reinforce the friendly and cheerful mood.
Final Iteration
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions! Thank you for reading
